Maximum security prisoners are freed during a power
outage at a mental asylum.
A rather average horror which borrows heavily from the
plot of Alfred Hitchcock's Spellbound and practically follows the same formula as Halloween, throwing in a villain in a Jason-style hockey mask for good measure (although it wins points
for having this novelty before Friday the 13th, which didn't introduce the mask until the 3rd movie). Â It's not a terrible horror-shocker, but not worth going out of your way
for.
Another film titled Alone In The Dark was released in
2005, but has no relation at all to this.
